Purse seiners

Written by MINIATURINDO on at 8:18 PM

Purse seiners are the most important and most effective vessels to catch aggregating species near the surface. The vessel surrounds the shoal with a deep curtain of netting and then the bottom of the net is pursed (closed) underneath the shoal by hauling a wire which runs from the vessel through rings on the bottom of the net and back to the vessel. Searching for shoals and assessing the size and direction of movement of it are the most important part of the fishing operation

Equipment Deck Equipment Typical equipment of purse seiners consists usually of a power block or triple roller (triplex) and storage equipment for hauling and stowing the net aboard. On larger vessels the fish is pumped on board while on smaller vessels the use of brailers is more common. On boats using small seine nets all operations are generally performed by hand.

Fish Detection Equipment On the more advanced purse seiners electronic equipment such as different types of echo sounders and sonar, and track plotters are used to: support the search for schools; assess the size and movement of the school; and to keep in touch with the school whilst surrounding it with the seine.

Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV or unmanned surface vehicle) is a watercraft vessel. The boat is generally has 54’ in length and weighs just 8,000 lbs. Many USV is used to utilize a lightweight carbon-nanotube enhanced composite material called Arovex, which allows the watercraft to weigh "significantly less".

Additionally, the carbon-nanotubes actually provide a strength increase of 20-50% over traditional materials. With those characteristics, the USV is expected to be sold as a possible tool for anti-piracy, search and rescue, submarine hunting, and harbor patrol. Armament options include stabilized machine guns, Mark 54 torpedoes, and over-the-horizon missiles.

Offshore TLP Deck

Written by MINIATURINDO on October 28, 2010 at 11:42 PM

TLP is an integrated platform that is stable and self-installable with a quayside-integrated deck and without the use of any temporary stability modules or an expensive heavy lift crane vessel. The novel hull form provides the superior efficiency, constructability, and hydrodynamic performance typical of a new generation TLP while having the stability necessary for quayside integration and commissioning, and provides a safe open-wellbay arrangement for drilling and production.

It significantly increases the water depths in which it can efficiently operate in both mild and hostile environments, as compared to existing TLPs. This is because the TLP is lighter and the mooring footprint is more effective.

integrated at quayside and precommissioned prior to transport. The platform is stable on its own during all preservice phases including ballasting down and installation, without use of any temporary stability modules or semisubmersible crane vessel, significantly reducing the complexity, weather dependence and risk exposure and reduced cost of the installation and reduced cost of offshore hookup and commissioning, at the same time providing additional flexibility in terms of the candidate vessels for the installation.

FPSO Ship

Written by MINIATURINDO on at 11:27 PM

“FPSO” stands for Floating Production, Storage and Offloading. An FPSO system is an offshore production facility that is typically ship-shaped and stores crude oil in tanks located in the hull of the vessel. The crude oil is periodically offloaded to shuttle tankers or ocean-going barges for transport to shore. FPSO’s may be used as production facilities to develop marginal oil fields or fields in deepwater areas remote from the existing OCS pipeline infrastructure. Additional details about FPSO’s can be found in OCS Report MMS 2000-015.

FPSO’s have been used to develop offshore fields around the world since the late 1970’s. They have been used predominately in the North Sea, Brazil, Southeast Asian/South China Seas, the Mediterranean Sea, Australia, and off the West Coast of Africa. There are currently 70 FPSO’s in operation or under construction worldwide. In addition to FPSO’s, there have been a number of ship-shaped Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) systems (vessels with no production processing equipment) used in these same areas to support oil and gas developments. One FSO is currently operated by PEMEX in the southern Gulf of Mexico (Bay of Campeche).

Passenger ship

Written by MINIATURINDO on September 27, 2010 at 9:05 PM

Passenger ship is a ship used to transport passengers. To improve efficiency or to serve a broader purpose, a passenger ship can be a Ro-Ro ships, or for short trips in the form of scheduled ferry.

Ships which provides enough space for passengers in addition to items considered included in this category. In Indonesia, the company which operates passenger ships are PT. Indonesian National Shipping known as PELNI, while Ro-Ro passenger ships and vehicles operated by PT ASDP, PT Dharma Ocean Utama, PT Jembatan Madura and various other shipping companies.

ships of this type are in dedicated to carry passengers, but not close possibility to carry goods in small amounts. the route also tend to be short for example between cities, between provinces, there are only some of which serve routes between countries.

Oil tanker

Written by MINIATURINDO on September 19, 2010 at 11:48 PM

An oil tanker, also known as a petroleum tanker, is a ship designed for the bulk transport of oil. There are two basic types of oil tankers: the crude tanker and the product tanker. Crude tankers move large quantities of unrefined crude oil from its point of extraction to refineries. Product tankers, generally much smaller, are designed to move petrochemicals from refineries to points near consuming markets.

Oil tankers are often classified by their size as well as their occupation. The size classes range from inland or coastal tankers of a few thousand metric tons of deadweight (DWT) to the mammoth ultra large crude carriers (ULCCs) of 550,000 DWT. Tankers move approximately 2,000,000,000 metric tons (2.2×109 short tons) of oil every year. Second only to pipelines in terms of efficiency, the average cost of oil transport by tanker amounts to only two or three United States cents per 1 US gallon (3.8 L).

Some specialized types of oil tankers have evolved. One of these is the naval replenishment oiler, a tanker which can fuel a moving vessel. Combination ore-bulk-oil carriers and permanently moored floating storage units are two other variations on the standard oil tanker design. Oil tankers have been involved in a number of damaging and high-profile oil spills. As a result, they are subject to stringent design and operational regulations.

Anchor handling tug supply (AHTS)

Written by MINIATURINDO on at 9:23 PM

Anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels are vessels which supply oil rigs, tow them to location, anchor them up and, in a few cases, serve as an Emergency Rescue and Recovery Vessel (ERRV).

AHTS vessels differ from Platform supply vessels (PSVs) in being fitted with winches for towing and anchor handling, having an open stern to allow the decking of anchors, and having more power to increase the bollard pull. The machinery is specifically designed for anchor handling operations. They also have arrangements for quick anchor release, which is operable from the bridge or other normally manned location in direct communication with the bridge. The reference load used in the design and testing of the towing winch is twice the static bollard pull.

LPG Tanker

Ship LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) is certainly a very important tool for oil-producing countries. Even in January 2008 and has held a special international conference to discuss the design and operation of LPG ships. These ships generally have a storage system with cooling and storage of the necessary pressure in the storage and transportation of LPG. Cooling system is needed for cooling during the transport of LPG in the harbor and to warm the back of LPG to be stored in pressurized storage. LPG vessel system settings that are sometimes quite difficult to cause the development of ship technology LPG quite stagnant.

Currently, the number of LPG vessels have been ordered to reach 200 ships. With the high level of consumer demand, it is necessary sebauh international conference to discuss the design, construction, and operation of LPG ships. intended to ensure the quality and function of LPG vessels and facilitate the development of ship design.

Service Vessel: Anchor Handling Tug (AHT) and Anchor Handling Tug & Supply (AHTS)

Written by MINIATURINDO on May 9, 2010 at 8:51 PM

An Anchor-Handling Tug (AHT ) moves anchors and tows drilling vessels, lighters and similar vessels. An Anchor-handling Tug & Supply (AHTS ) is a combined supply and anchor-handling ship. An Anchor is a heavy hooked instrument which, when lowered to the seabed, holds a vessel in place by its connecting cable. An Anchor Handling Tug is a tug equipped with a winch to lift a working barge’s anchors. It is also often used as the working barge’s tow tug. An Anchor Pendant is a wire which is attached to the crown of an anchor, enabling it to be pulled out of the seabed. The pendant wire is used by the anchor handling tug to set and retrieve anchors using the cable eye on the free end of the wire.

An (AHTS ) is an offshore supply vessel specially designed to provide anchor handling services and to tow offshore platforms, barges and production modules/vessels. The vessels is also often used as standbye rescue vessles for oilfields in production. The (AHTS ) is then often equipped for fire fighting, rescue operations and oil recovery. The (AHTS ) is also used in general supply service for all kinds of platforms, transporting both wet and dry cargo in addition to deck cargo. The focus has been on the vessels' winch and engine capasities as oil activity has moved into deeper and deeper water in order to offer the oil companies a safe and efficient operation in the challenging conditions of the deepwater area.

Anchor handling vessels are designed with high horsepower to tow drilling units and perform anchor handling operations as well as the ability to carry supplies to platforms. The increase in deep water exploration has led to higher horsepower vessels to handle the heavier gear required to operate at such depths. In the offshore service vessel fleet, new deep-draft, very large, high-horsepower anchor handling/tug /supply vessels have evolved to move these large new sophisticated drilling rigs, handle their anchors, chain and mooring lines, and meet all kinds of service demands of the new generation of deepwater rigs and production platforms. It is possible that the industry might move in the direction it did back in the late 1970s and build some ships which are intended to do less than the whole job. In those days the specialist ships were AHTs, and they were found to be more efficient than ships with longer decks which were trying to do the supply job as well.

AHTS Ship Scale Model shown here is ordered by PT Baruna Raya which is one of the biggest Marine Transportation Company in Indonesia. This company provides marine transportation services to support offshore operations for Oil companies nationally and internationally. The company vision is to become one of the best service national management class marine transportation and always continue to grow in business competition.
